We all know about the hazards found on all golf courses, sand traps, waste bunkers and water hazards. We meet people all the time that bought into equity clubs or bundled golf communities and later learned that not all golf hazards are found on the links.
When you buy into these communities, you really need to do your homework. There are private clubs that the equity membership is more than the condo you’re buying. Fees go up every year due to rising costs to maintain the course or courses. Bundled golf sounds great while the developer is still paying the bill for the course upkeep…but when he’s done, guess who pays the tab.
Greens Edge doesn’t own Eastwood..it’s public. There is an alternative to country club living. Greens Edge. Save that escalating membership money and buy your wife a nice car and nice new clubs for yourself!

The first thing visitors to our sales center notice is the layout of the Greens Edge towers. Since the 80’s the simple and inexpensive ’shoebox’ was what you got in new developments. Dark and boring with a great view of not much. During my 43 years in Fort Myers, not too much has changed except prices and location. The non-shoebox design was only available to the affluent, leaving the less expensive ‘box’ for the rest of us.
The current crop of ‘Baby Boomers’ of which I am a senior member, are looking beyond the grandeur of the community and available product. They want to know what the annual costs are estimated to be for ownership. The primary goal of Harp Development was to create a country club without the high costs. Well…we’ve got condos as good or better than their condos, next to a 137 slope golf course, and you don’t have to buy the 18th hole to live there!
If you buy a retirement or vacation home here, most people want water or golf course. I’ve lived on the water during my boating phase and I have to tell you that it eventually becomes very boring. I love my golf, which is everchanging and fresh every day. Think about it.
Greens Edge has moderate pricing, low density, location and NO SHOEBOX. Our homes start in the mid 200’s to the high 300’s for remaining units for sale. Come visit me. I don’t think you will be disappointed. 2008 is the year to buy your new home!
